Biography

Ren Su pursued his bachelor and master degrees in electrochemistry at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China. In the MSc program he has focused on heterogeneous electrocatalysts for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) under the supervision of Prof. Zhe Lü. He joined the UHV-SPM group at the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Centre (iNANO), Aarhus University, Denmark for the PhD degree and then a two-year postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Flemming Besenbacher. There, his research interests focused on applied photocatalysis as well as on fundamental understanding of photocatalytic processes.

Ren joined Syngaschem BV in August 2014 as a research scientist in order to work on green approaches for sustainable hydrogen production. Focusing on novel photocatalyst materials he worked as a visiting researcher with Prof. Graham Hutchings at the Cardiff Catalysis Insitute (CCI), Cardiff University until January 2015.
