Biography

Xiong Zhou achieved his bachelor degree of Physics in 2009 and PhD degree of Physical Chemistry in 2014 both at Peking University. Xiong developed his specialty in surface reaction characterization and mediation throughout his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Kai Wu. His research issues were Ullmann coupling on noble metal surfaces and CO oxidation activated by Au, Pt single atoms. Afterwards, he joined Prof. Wei Chen’s group at National University of Singapore as a post-doctor to study the room temperature CO2 hydrogenation.

Xiong was interested in the atomic nature of metals within catalytic reactions with surface science techniques of STM, XPS, TPD and HREELS etc. He joined Syncat@Beijing in September 2016 to study the mechanism of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
